Hey all! Had a very busy weekend and my computer broke down :( so I have much recapping to do! Let's get to it then.
Friday- After working until 7pm and with a 90 minute bike ride on the radar, I was happy to get to the gym right around 7:35ish to try and get my ride in before they closed at 9. Besides sweating my butt off (literally) and being exhausted from the long day of work, I ended up finishing a semi decent workout and scored about 20 miles.

Saturday- What was supposed to be my day off and my only day to sleep in
this week ended up being an early morning spent in the pool. I can't
complain too much because Bradley decided that he would wake up at 6:15 with me
and drive my grumpy butt to the school. Let it be noted that I am not a
morning person and I like to blame those around me for the reason my eyes are
open, poor Brad. But early or not, we made it to the pool just in time
for me to get my workout it.
WU: 400 continuous, last 50 meters in each 100 meters= kick (only using
legs, holding out arms)
Main: 8x100 each 100=25 easy, 25 build 25 hard, 25 easy.
Cool down: 6x25 each easier than the last
I really enjoyed this workout because I got to work on my form as well as my speed, which was a first for me in the pool, and it was quite fun! Saturday, although exhausted ended up being a good workout day, and admittedly I was happy to get it done and over with in the morning so I could enjoy the rest of the day. Side note, went and saw the movie "Sisters" in the theatre today, and it was hilarious.

Sunday: Sunday I was reunited with my morning run group! Even though
it was snowy and windy we managed to complete our normal 11 miles. I was
dead. I haven't run in the double digits since before Christmas, so it
was a little rough going once I reached the 9 mile mark, but at that point we
were already over the hump so I decided to tough it out ;p. It was very
nice to meet up with some friends and get some good advice from a woman in the
group who has done quite a few Tri's including a full ironman! She had
many good things to say, unfortunately I learned about a few more things
that I will probably have to buy. If you want to put your stock into
something, I would suggest Triathlons. Oh, I almost forgot. I also
had to bike for 30 minutes today, which at first I was sad about, but it really
helped to loosen up my runners hip so in the long run it was a good
thing.

Monday- Now I have come full circle. I can't believe that I completed my first full week, I have really not felt this accomplished since I successfully pulled off my wedding. The only problem is, making it to Monday meant that I had another long swim ahead. But first, I decided to get my run in, so that after my swim at 11:30 I could call it a day. My run was great! I felt fast and powerful. I ran for about 40 minutes and almost reached the 5 mile mark. In between my run and swim I powered down a protein shake, and fuel up on water for the laps ahead.
Swim:
WU: 6x100 working on form
Main: 4x400 maintaining a consistent speed
Cool Down: Again the main workout took me the whole hour, so I couldn’t get it in.
This workout was hard, but with water was actually a success! I was so happy when I walked out of there; it felt like I had just won that $1.3 billion Powerball. LOL. Promptly thereafter I went to ALDI and Meijer for some good ol' groceries and then headed home to prep some food and rest before Class.
This is the face of a tired but accomplished individual! First full week of training complete, bring on the next!
And here is the recipe for the day!
Healthy quinoa mix from aldi
1/2 cup cooked
1/2-1 c of milk
1 tbsp honey
handful of berries or one medium banana
It's like oatmeal with a twist, very yummy.

Those berries look scrumptious. PS: You're my idol❤️💋
