Last week of January thoughts

It doesn't get easier, you get stronger

Looking back the last four weeks, I can definitely feel how much stronger I have gotten.  I know it is not just the hours of exercise I have put in but eating healthy, and staying positive as well.  I am so happy with my training this far, and am so lucky for all of the people who have been supporting me, especially Brad, who stays in the gym with me even if he is done with his workout and continues to ask me about my hip every day to make sure I am not overdoing it.

Remember anytime you are going to do something that is both mentally and physically challenging, you need a support group!  For me that is my family, friends and my running group.  These people are playing huge rolls and helping me to remain strong and not give up!

Yesterday I spent 2 hours in the gym!  I ran five miles and then I rode the bike for an hour.  I remembered to stretch after all of that too, which right now is extremely important for me.  I was a sweaty mess!  I told Brad, I think I am too tired to shower but unfortunately when you have done two hours of cardio not showering isn't an option, so I proceeded to lay down the first five minutes of showering in the tub.  You know something else?  In the winter I have never had to shave my legs this much, but now that I am swimming I can't go a solid three months in hibernation no-leg shave mode, because I don't want to scare any lifeguards.  Anyway, so excited that my first month of training was a success, and excited to see what this next month will bring!

P.S. did anyone notice my fancy font or colors?  I was just showing the normal non-technological person that sometimes it might take you 12 blog posts to figure out you can do everything in Microsoft word and copy it over to your blog.  I didn’t want anyone to feel bad if they felt like their blog wasn’t very fancy the first 11 times they wrote something.

I never take any gym selfies, so I thought I would be funny and take a really flattering one on the bike. The look on my face is a new selfie hashtag #dyingandreadytocollapse.  Your welcome, have a pleasent day!

XO, Kara
