Thirsty Thursday

Gooood Morning mom, dad, and whoever else reads this thing ;).  Today is a great day, because I wasn't the one who won the powerball ticket, and therefore don't have to decide what to do with my winnings. But seriously if I would have won I most definitly would buy myself a really nice TRI bike and some pretty sweet accessories :).  Yesterday was a pool day!  WOOT, quickly becoming my favorite workout when I am not dead tired/which I was yesterday.  I really tried to focus on my form last night because that is really quite important when your tired, to save you from drowning.

WU: 6x50 breathing bilaterally
MAIN: 2x500, my second 500 was supposed to be strong and medium quickness
CD: 250 slow

For some reason I was having some serious trouble with my giant hair under my swim cap today.  I couldn't get it to fit right, but I finished the workout without any mishaps of cap shooting into the air, so I guess we are all good.

I hope everyone is being safe out there in the wintery mix, and staying hydrated!  I won't be doing a workout today, as I am going to see Jeff Dunham at the Van Andel tonight! As always here is a recipe for you!

Penut butter Jelly time smoothie of champs!
Makes two smoothies recipe thanks to +Kayla Itsines

2 cups mixed berries, frozen or fresh
1.5 tbsp penut butter
1.5 scoops vanilla protein shake
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups low fat milk

I also put a little ice in mine to make it colder, and blend until protein powder is dissolved!
I typically pair this with a small breakfast, or drink it as a snack a couple of hours before my workout.

Kara, xo

  1. I can't wait to try the shake tomorrow! No protein powder, but I heard we don't need as much protein as we usually eat (especially if we aren't training for a marathon), so no worries. So very thankful the powerball ticket I didn't buy wasn't a winner as well;) xoxo
